In my previous blog I shared the main differences between therapy and coaching.
Now the next question I'm usually asked, is why would coaching be beneficial for expecting or new moms?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well, let's be crystal clear first that coaching does not replace therapy, when a mom is diagnosed with a severe Perinatal Mood or Anxiety Disorder (such as Postpartum Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, PTSD, or Postpartum Psychosis). These are very serious cases that require immediate therapy and/or medication. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Coaching however is extremely useful for moms who do not have severe symptoms but are still very much struggling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, if you're expecting or recently gave birth, coaching can help you, in a very reliable way with:⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Reduce your stress and the risk to develop a disorder.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Give your back a sense of control.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Help you reclaim part of your self-identity that feels lost.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Help you communicate your needs better.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Bring back feelings of joy and self-trust.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
